Coach Profile for Imran Majid

I bring an elite level of competitive experience to my coaching. I am a seven-time UK No.1 and current world professional pool player, with more than 25 years competing at the highest level of the sport. I have also represented my country in the Mosconi Cup, been a World Teams Champion and reached European No.1 status, alongside numerous national and international titles. My philosophy is that great coaching is about developing the individual, not forcing every player into the same mould. I use my experience at the very highest level to identify what each player needs to improve, then build an approach around their natural ability, body mechanics, experience, personality and goals. I have been coaching for around 16 years and have worked with players of all ages and abilities, from beginners and juniors through to competitive players and national-team athletes. I particularly enjoy developing young players and helping them build strong fundamentals, confidence and a genuine understanding of the game. My coaching covers technical skills such as stance, head position, bridge, grip, cue delivery, eye pattern, shot selection and cue-ball control, alongside the mental and performance aspects that separate good players from great ones — preparation, visualisation, concentration, confidence, routines and performing under pressure. Because I continue to compete professionally, my coaching is based on current, real-world competitive experience, not simply knowledge of the game from the past. I understand what it takes to prepare, perform and maintain focus when the pressure is highest. My goal is to give every player the knowledge, technique and confidence to perform at their own highest level — whether they want to enjoy the game more, compete locally, win tournaments or ultimately pursue the sport at an elite level.
