How to write an effective bio for your profile

Profile Basics 2 min read

Summary & Bio

Your bio is the most-read section of your profile. It is where potential clients decide whether you're the right fit. A well-written, specific bio builds trust and sets you apart.

Accessing the Bio Editor

Go to Profile > Bio to edit your bio and summary. The editor supports rich text formatting so you can structure your content clearly.

What to Include

A strong bio typically covers five key areas:

  1. Opening hook: A concise statement about what you do and who you help
  2. Experience: How long you've been working in your field and the types of clients or organisations you've worked with
  3. Qualifications: Key certifications, degrees, or professional memberships
  4. Approach: What makes you different. Your methodology, philosophy, or unique selling point
  5. Call to action: Encourage potential clients to get in touch or browse your profile

Writing Tips

  • Be authentic. Write in your own voice rather than copying generic descriptions
  • Be specific. Precise descriptions are more compelling than vague ones
  • Focus on the reader. Explain what they'll gain from working with you
  • Keep it scannable. Use short paragraphs and clear structure
  • Proofread carefully. Spelling and grammar errors undermine professionalism

Length Guidelines

  • Recommended: 150 to 300 words
  • Shorter bios can feel thin, while very long bios risk losing the reader's attention
  • Aim for enough detail to cover all five areas above without padding

The AI bio generator can create a professional biography using information from your profile, including your sport profiles, roles, and qualifications. Go to the bio editor and click the AI Generate option. The AI will draft a bio based on your existing profile data. You can then provide revision notes to refine the result. Each generation costs 0.1 credits. See AI Content Tools for more.
