Roles & Experience

Your experience section is your personal coaching career history. It is your opportunity to show athletes that you have a track record of working with athletes, clubs, or organisations at the level you claim.

If you run a business that uses multiple coaches, see the service provider version: Roles & Experience for Service Providers. Service providers use this section to present the collective experience of the team delivering services through the business.

Adding a Role

  1. Go to your Profile page and select Roles & Experience
  2. Click Add Role
  3. Select the sport this role relates to
  4. Choose the role type (e.g., Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Performance Analyst)
  5. Select the level (e.g., grassroots, academy, professional)
  6. Choose the organisation type (e.g., club, school, national association)
  7. Enter the number of years of experience in this role
  8. Click Save

What to Include

Include all coaching roles that are relevant to your current practice, even informal ones:

  • Current and previous coaching positions at clubs or academies
  • School or university coaching roles
  • Volunteer coaching positions
  • Freelance or private coaching work
  • Any mentoring or player development roles

The more comprehensive your experience section, the more confidence athletes will have in your abilities.

Editing and Removing Roles

You can edit or remove roles at any time from the Roles & Experience section of your profile. If a role is no longer relevant or you've moved on, update your profile to keep it current.

Tips

  • Include both paid and voluntary roles. All coaching experience counts
  • Be specific about the level you coached at. "Academy football coach" is more useful than "football coach"
  • If you've coached at well-known clubs or organisations, make sure to name them
  • Update this section whenever you take on a new role or leave an existing one
