Roles & Experience

Your roles and experience section is the track record behind your business. It shows clients that the people delivering your services have worked in the field, at the level claimed, and have the history to back up what you advertise.

How This Is Different to a Coach's Experience

A coach uses this section as a personal career history.

A service provider's roles and experience section should represent the collective track record of your business: the senior roles held by you and the practitioners you work with, the organisations your team has been part of, and the levels at which the business operates. If you trade as a sole practitioner, treat this section as your own CV. If you employ or contract multiple coaches, therapists, analysts, or specialists, add the standout roles from across your team.

The goal is to give a client browsing your profile a clear sense of the calibre of the people they will actually work with, not just the founder.

Adding a Role

  1. Go to your Profile page and select Roles & Experience
  2. Click Add Role
  3. Select the sport this role relates to
  4. Choose the role type (for example, Head Physiotherapist, Lead Performance Analyst, Director of Coaching)
  5. Select the level (for example, grassroots, academy, professional, international)
  6. Choose the organisation type (for example, club, clinic, national association, agency)
  7. Enter the number of years of experience in this role
  8. Click Save

If a role belongs to a named practitioner in your business, you can note that in the role description so clients understand who they will be working with.

What to Include

List the professional roles that genuinely represent your business's capability:

  • Current and previous positions held at clubs, clinics, academies, or organisations by you or members of your team
  • Freelance or private practice engagements your business has fulfilled
  • Consulting or advisory roles with sports bodies, federations, or major organisations
  • Academic or research positions held by your team
  • Volunteer or honorary roles at recognised institutions

A clinic that contracts two physiotherapists with Premier League academy backgrounds and a sport psychologist who has worked with an Olympic team should list all three histories. That breadth is what differentiates a credible business from a one-person operation.

Avoiding Overclaim

Roles and experience are easy to verify. Two rules to stay credible:

  • Only list roles that genuinely apply to your business's offer today. Do not include a role from a practitioner who has since left
  • Be precise about the level. "Head of Performance at a Premier League academy" is meaningful. "Worked in football" is not, and it invites suspicion

If a key practitioner leaves the business, review this section and remove the roles that walked out the door with them.

Editing and Removing Roles

You can edit or remove roles at any time from the Roles & Experience section of your profile. Keep this list current. Out-of-date roles, particularly ones tied to practitioners who have moved on, are worse than no roles at all.

Tips

  • Lead with the roles most relevant to your service categories. A clinic should foreground clinical leadership; an academy should foreground coaching directorships
  • Where appropriate, name well-known organisations your team has been part of. Recognisable names accelerate client trust
  • Pair this section with Qualifications & Certifications so clients see both the credentials and the track record
  • Review quarterly. As your team changes, the picture you present should change with it
