Completing Your Profile
Your profile is your public-facing page on Pitch Gurus. It is how athletes decide whether to reach out and book a session with you. A fully completed profile builds credibility, improves your visibility in search results, and gives potential clients the confidence to get in touch.
Profile Completion Progress
Your dashboard displays a profile completion percentage based on how many key sections you've filled in. Aim for 100% to maximise your ranking in search results and make the strongest possible impression on visiting athletes. Each section you complete contributes to the overall score, so it is worth working through them all.
Essential Profile Sections
These are the core sections that every coach needs to complete. Your profile will not appear in search results until the required fields are filled in.
Personal Information
Your name, location, and contact details form the foundation of your profile. Athletes searching for coaches near them rely on accurate location data, so make sure your city and country are correct. For more guidance, see Personal Information.
- Full name (as you'd like it to appear publicly)
- Profile picture
- Location (city and country)
- Bio and summary
Sport Profiles
Adding one or more sport profiles tells athletes exactly what you coach. For each sport you add, you can specify the experience level you bring, the age groups you work with, and the skill levels you cater to, from absolute beginners through to advanced competitors. Being specific here helps athletes find you in filtered searches. See Sport Profiles for detailed instructions.
Qualifications
Listing your qualifications and certifications demonstrates that you are a credentialed professional. Athletes and parents paying for coaching services want reassurance that you hold recognised accreditations. Include the certification name, issuing organisation, and the date awarded. See Qualifications & Certifications for more detail.
Roles & Experience
The experience section is your career history in brief. Detail the positions you've held, the organisations or clubs you've worked with, and roughly how many years you've been coaching. Even if some of your experience is informal or voluntary, it is worth including. See Roles & Experience for guidance.
Additional Profile Features
Beyond the essentials, Pitch Gurus offers several features to help you stand out and engage with athletes:
- Content & Articles: Publish articles to showcase your expertise. Coaches can publish up to 4 articles per month. See Creating Articles.
- Calendar: Manage your schedule and share availability with potential clients. See Calendar.
- Connections: Connect with other coaches and professionals on the platform. See Connections.
- Identity Verification: Complete identity verification to earn a verified badge on your profile. See Identity Verification.
- AI Profile Builder: Upload a CV or portfolio and let AI generate your profile content. See AI Content Tools.
Tips for a Great Profile
- Use a professional photo: A clear, friendly headshot is the single biggest trust signal on your profile. Athletes are far more likely to contact a coach with a good photo than one without.
- Write a compelling bio: Your bio is your pitch. Highlight your coaching philosophy, the results you've helped athletes achieve, and what makes your approach different. See Summary and Bio for detailed guidance.
- Be specific about your expertise: Vague descriptions like "I coach all ages and levels" are less convincing than precise ones. Detail the sports, age brackets, and skill levels where you do your best work.
- Keep qualifications up to date: Add new certifications as you earn them and remove or update any that have lapsed.
Profile Visibility
Your profile becomes visible to athletes once you've completed the minimum required fields (name, location, profile picture, bio, and at least one sport profile). Once visible, the completeness and quality of your profile directly influences where you appear in search results. Profiles with more detail and higher completion scores rank higher.
If you want a quick overview of everything you need to complete, refer to the Profile Completion Checklist.
